The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe has urged the lay faithful at Christ the King Outstation in Kamphulu Zone, under Manyani Parish, Kasungu, to fully support and pray for the Church’s missionary work.

PMS Director Father Geoffrey Chikapa made the call today during an animation session held at Thosolo Christ the King Outstation under Manyani Parish in Kasungu.

Father Chikapa said Christians are called through baptism to proclaim the Word of God and, therefore, have a responsibility to support the Church through their finances, services and prayers.

He also expressed satisfaction with the fruits of the animation sessions, saying the increased offerings and large numbers of Christians attending are signs that the mission is bearing fruit.

“Let me indicate here that the animations have started bearing good fruits, just by looking at the offerings and the large number attending the animations,” Father Chikapa said.

Meanwhile, Manyani Parish Vice Chairperson Zakeyo Ngoma commended the PMS for conducting the animation sessions, saying they have helped simplify the work of parish leaders by providing Christians with first-hand information on how they can support the Church.

Ngoma encouraged the faithful to actively participate in such gatherings so that they can better understand and put into practice the teachings of the Church.

“Let me thank the PMS office for these animations, as they have simplified our work at parish level. Christians have received first-hand information,” Ngoma said.
