Centenary Bank marked its third anniversary with a Thanksgiving mass at Maula Cathedral in the Lilongwe archdiocese.

‎The main celebrant, Monsignor Patrick Thawale, emphasized the importance of the bank’s role in managing finances and promoting development.

‎”As a church, we are dealing with human beings who are both body and spirit… We feel managing a bank for the people, with the people, is the way to go,” Monsignor Thawale said.

‎”We want bank to have not only customer care, but also customer experience.

‎Treat them with dignity, they should feel that you are not just interested in their money, but also in their wellbeing.” Monsignor Thawale Said.

‎Board member William Mwaza, said the mass was an opportunity to thank God for the bank’s progress.

‎”This idea of having a Thanksgiving mass here at Maula and in other cathedrals and parishes across the country is really to thank God for the kind of grace and mercy that has showed us as we celebrate three years today.” Said mwaza.

‎Mwaza added that the bank has turned around from making losses bank [Mybacks ] to showing growth in profits.

‎ “We took over from a bank which was making losses, we have turned it around and the profits are growing.”

‎Dr. Francis Peleka Moyo, praised the bank’s performance, saying, “The past three years, the bank has really showed that this bank can perform wonders… It has shown that it is a bank that has to be reckoned with.”

‎Dorica Chirwa, first vice chair of Maula Cathedral, welcomed the bank’s investment, saying, “As one of the customers with Centenary Bank, this investment is very welcome.

‎A lot of people and church communities have opened their bank accounts with the bank after noticing its importance.”
