The Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) Director, Fr Geoffrey Chikapa, has urged the lay faithful at St Matthew Chinkhoma Zone under Manyani Parish in Kasungu to join faith groups available in the Catholic Church in order to strengthen their relationship with God and build a strong parish.
Fr Chikapa made the call on Sunday September 13, 2026, during mission month animations held at St Matthew Chinkhoma Zone under Manyani Parish.
The PMS director highlighted that Christian life is about sharing, saying faith groups provide an opportunity for Christians to share ideas and work together in developing their parish, starting from small Christian communities.
Fr Chikapa also expressed gratitude for the good turnout of Christians, saying it was a clear indication that they are eager to receive Church teachings. He added that the response was an encouragement to his office.

“Let me say here that this is an encouragement to the PMS office, and we will make sure that we provide such teachings as Christians are eager to learn,” he said.
In his remarks, St Matthew Chinkhoma Zone Chairperson, Zakeyo Ngoma, echoed Fr Chikapa’s sentiments, saying the message was clear and acknowledging that faith groups play a vital role in deepening the relationship among the lay faithful.

Ngoma added that, as leaders, they would ensure that the lay faithful join these groups in order to build a strong future Church.
