The Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) Office in the Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe has expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of Mission Month animations at St Francis de Sales Manyani Parish, in Kasungu district.

Speaking after the conclusion of the animations at Chimamba Zone on Sunday, Archdiocesan PMS Director Father Geoffrey Chikapa expressed his impression with the active participation of parishioners across all six zones of the parish.

Father Chikapa said the animations have helped Christians understand their roles and responsibilities in supporting the mission of the Catholic Church.

He said the PMS Office expects parishioners to translate the knowledge gained into action by contributing generously to the Church and actively participating in evangelisation and other missionary activities.

“We now expect parishioners, through their different associations, to become more active in the mission of the Church and contribute generously to its work,” said Father Chikapa.

As the Church prepares to commemorate the Centenary of World Mission Sunday, Father Chikapa urged parishioners at Manyani to participate fully in the celebrations and contribute generously, as the parish is taking a leading role in the archdiocese’s commemorations.

In his remarks, Manyani Parish Second Vice-Chairperson Zacheus Ngoma described the animations as fruitful, saying they have equipped Christians with a better understanding of their role in supporting the mission of the Church.

Ngoma urged parishioners to put the lessons into practice to ensure the parish benefits from the knowledge and spiritual formation gained during the sessions.

The Archdiocese of Lilongwe, through its PMS Office, conducted the Mission Month animations across all six zones of Manyani Parish, focusing on the three pillars of mission: prayer, contributions and evangelisation.
